Life’s a fillet of fish

So this is it. One whole year of traveling. I can’t believe its almost over. Tomorrow morning I will pack my bag, check out and make my way to the airport for the last time. I’m a bit nervous. What will it feel like being at home again? Im so excited to see people, especially my Mum and Dad.

I feel weird, but actually very excited too. The adventure dosn’t stop. It never stops. This year has been amazing, but there is a whole lot of new things to look forward to. Also I won’t be living out of a backpack anymore. I will have more then three outfits to choose from, my toothbrush will already be in the bathroom and there will always be milk in the fridge.

Im not looking at it as going back, my life is always about moving forward. Learning new skills and meeting new people is what drives me. I’v had so many great ideas on this trip and now I’m finally going to have time see them come to life. This may be my last post on this blog, but it isn’t goodbye. Watch this space, something exciting is coming.

Thanks for sharing the adventure with me.

Cairns

Ok. So its day number three here in Cairns and its so boring. We are on the last of our budget so can’t really afford to do much more now. It has been raining quite a lot but its still so hot with that kind of heat that feels to close and stuffy. We fly back to Melbourne tomorrow for our last week before we fly home. I have mixed emotions about it. Firstly Im grateful just to get out of Cairns, but Im kind of sad too as I know this is the last place before I go home. Its a strange feeling.

Mission Beach – Skydiving

So, we did it and it was incredible! I cant even describe how its feels to free fall. As soon as I met my tandem instructor, I felt safe and all my nerves just disappeared. We jumped with 3 other people making it a group 6. Bells and Bob went before me. It was so odd watching them tumble of the plane.

Nerves

Right. So I’v always wanted to do a skydive in my life. When me and Bells started traveling we agreed that we would do one on this trip. When Bob came out we agreed to do it for his Birthday. It’s coming towards the end of the trip too, so why not go out with a bang?

Im terrified but we have booked one. We will be jumping 14 000 feet from Mission Beach. It looks amazing on the youtube videos I’v seen. I can’t write too much about it as It kind of makes me feel a bit sick thinking about it. Anyway I’l let you know if I survive and how it was in my next post. Wish me luck.

Magnetic Island – three bears

They say everyman is an Island. If this is the case mine is one connected closely to many others, so much so that it resembles a large country. As lovely as it is traveling with my two of my best friends, sometimes you just need a bit of your own space.

Agnes Water – thinking of home

Im in Agnes Water and its raining. Its been raining all day and all of yesterday and I don’t think its going to stop. We are staying in a little holiday house with reclining chairs and a big TV so its not that bad I guess. Pretty much just practising being inside all day for when I go home.

Hervey Bay – Frasier Island

Unless you are traveling to Frasier Island there really is no reason to visit Hervey Bay. Its dull.

Brisbane

Brisbane is a bit of an odd one. Its quite a nice city just missing something. Its a little bit of a miss. Bob has taken a massive dislike to it here. I think because we got soaked in the rain on our first day. He is being a princess now and sulking. Me and Bells are going out to have some fun.

Byron Bay

Every now and again whilst traveling you can really get stuck somewhere. Byron Bay is this exact sort of place. Its so laid back and pretty, you totally get why there are so many hippy sorts here. Today we walked up to the lighthouse. We are now in Australia’s most easterly tip. Having already visited the most southernly I feel like we have already traveled a fair bit of this enormous country.

Its gorgeous here. Im really going to miss swimming in the sea and endless white beaches when I get home.
